Marla Camp—owner and creative director
Marla has over 20 years of design experience, and it shows. She loves collaborating with clients and project teams. She creates original work. She loves words as much as art. She excels at making everything she creates reflect your message in a way that will effectively reach and serve your target market. She understands messaging. She loves staying on budget.
Background: She developed her publication design and production skills working as the art and graphics director at a number of large newspapers around the country. As the Associate Managing Editor of Design at the Times Union in Albany, NY, she directed the redesign of that paper in 1992. She contracted as art director for the custom publishing division of Bill Communications, New York City, designing more than 100 magazine supplements and other specialty products for major food industry players. She was marketing chair on the board of the Society of News Design (SND), and is a regular speaker at design seminars and workshops around the country. In 1993 she moved to Austin and made Impact Productions a full-time, full-service graphics shop. She has won numerous awards, including gold awards from SND and an international award of excellence from Art Direction Magazine for package design.
